Revision history [back]
Security in the case of Askbot application is defined by the security of the deployment and that of the web server - i.e. use of the ssl/https, and the proper maintenance of the server.
Messages in the database are not encrypted, all information shown on the site is stored in the database and in the directory of uploaded files.
Askbot does use standard techniques for the web security, most of those are built into the Django framework. There were some instances when (cross-site-scripting) security vulnerabilities were found and patched. As of writing this answer there aren't known issues of this kind.
