How to increase user's karma?

Whatever I do, my reputation won't go up.

I checked source code, can't find where it would bump up my reputation.

Could you clarify what you tried to do to bump your reputation?

With default settings, the only way to earn reputation is to accept answers, however it is possible to decrease the barrier to vote. Evgeny (May 4 '11) <-- found from related question.. ok.. that's too high barrier I feel.. Where should I start to look at to change it?

Karma grows when you receive upvotes from other people or when your answers are accepted as correct.

Admins can artificially increase or decrease karma in the user profile -> moderation sections.

aye. thanks.. I think offering small karma when user post a question or post an answer could be good. I think SO does this, doesn't it?

Can't agree with you, sorry. This way it will be possible to gain reputation just by making arbitrary posts, even spam.
