Should there be an Askbot developers discussion forum?
In trying to develop stuff for askbot I would like to ask questions about certain aspects of the code. "Where is this field used?", "Why is this parameter left unset until here?" and that kind of thing.
It seems that many people are posting such questions here, but my feeling is that that isn't something I want to do. The kind of discussions I envisage have no "right" answer that can be voted up or down; it's a discussion that has a flow, and that flow shouldn't be fragmented by group weighting.
This highlights the difference between a Q&A site ("What's the best treatment for atheletes foot") vs a forum ("What are your thoughts on Obama's presidency?")
I would therefore rather see a forum for askbot coders. Perhaps divided into development and deployment. I'm sure other categories could be devised.
Your thoughts?

To be clear - I prefer to have just one site for the developer discussions and support of DYI users.
DYI? Did you mean DIY users?
We will make categories, but they will be based on tags. It is a bit awkward to change the urls to the scheme you are suggesting, as we have url for example - "badges" - with the scheme you are suggesting category "badges" would be impossible.
